Overview

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join the Walbridge team. In this role you will ensure that the labor, materials, equipment & sundries required to build and maintain our domestic and international projects are purchased from specified subcontractors & suppliers and are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions of the overarching construction contract.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Data Base Maintenance: Updating and maintaining Walbridge's subcontractor & supplier databases (Vendor Management System and & Building Connected) to ensure compliance with Walbridge Sourcing requirements to include all necessary contract documentation.
  • Market Research: Assist in market research and identifying potential sources by socio-economic indicators such as minority businesses, women owned businesses, veteran owned businesses, small businesses and other agency contracts. Preparing market surveys and documenting results of market research.
  • Support: Providing responsive, high-quality service to Walbridge employees, representatives of subcontractors and suppliers, by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner. Assisting Estimators with project procurement plans/matrices. Supporting Contract Administration in obtaining all required qualifications necessary for subcontract/purchase order award.
  • Coordination: Coordinating specifications, plans, proposal forms, and other documentation necessary to support procurement efforts on Corporate ERP sites.

Qualifications

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of construction management, engineering or strategic sourcing, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Minimum of 6 years of previous experience in procurement, construction estimating or construction field operations.
  • Practicable knowledge of procurement practices and procedures including Government or commercial purchasing, rental, or lease of supplies, and equipment through open-market methods.
  • Experience with purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, and indefinite delivery contracts such as federal supply schedules.
  • Experience with termination functions including preparing solicitations, contract modifications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent PC and Microsoft skills with strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience with construction procurement, estimating or related field experience.
