AHA Health Impact Summit

Come join the American Heart Association as we take a closer look at the barriers to quality health care for our city and region. The medical community of today is now more than ever looking at housing, transportation, access to fresh food and other social determinants of health to better understand patient populations and refine treatments.

Join us as we explore cutting edge approaches to improve health outcomes through addressing the social determinants of health. The summit will begin with poster board presentation from our partner organizations follow by two dynamic panels from leaders of the housing, transportation, food and healthcare industries.
This year's Health Impact Summit will feature the following topics:

  • Clinical 
  • Social Determinants of Health (Transportation, Food Access, Housing)
  • Policy
  • Expanding Access
  • Care Coordination
The keynote will be provided by Dr. Phillip Levy, Endowed Professor and Associate Chair for Research Department of Emergency Medicine, Assistant Vice President for Translational Science and Clinical Research Innovation Wayne State University. The summit will conclude with recognition of partners that have gone above and beyond the call of duty in the effort to create health equity for all.
